Today is the birthday of a dear friend of mine who has been working with me in the Society for Creative Anachronism for several years now. I decided tomark the occasion with a new source translation: The culinary recipes from the 1559 Kuenstlichs und Fuertreffflichs Kochbuch. Many of them are already online, but today, the full document is available for download. There are several medicinal recipes in the book that I did not include in my translation because I feel inadequately prepared to translate all of them. I may do this later, but right now, I want to turn to another fifteenth-century source.
